What is the focus of your research during your visit?

Heterostructure of Ti-doped α-Fe₂O₃ and TiFe-bimetallic metal-organic frameworks modified with Pt single-atom co-catalysts for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production.

I choose FAU because

Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg is one of the top Universities around the world, ranked number 340 in the 2023 QS world ranking. In particular, the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, where I plan to conduct my research, achieved the best QS world ranking by subject for the University. It is placed at 70^th position worldwide and among the top six in Germany. FAU has consistently been competitive and successful locally and globally through the provision and sustenance of a vibrant research and teaching ecosystem that is well-equipped with facilities, suitable for effective researchers. In addition, the host research group at FAU, Chair for Surface Science and Corrosion (LKO), is well-equipped with adequate facilities needed for the execution of my research work. More so, my research host at FAU, Prof. Dr. Patrik Schmuki, is very versatile and well-experienced in developing nanomaterials and technologies for hydrogen generation. He is a suitable host for the execution of my research at FAU.
