Both programs aim to establish sustainable relationships between Bavarian and Queensland partners by supporting collaborative research that addresses critical global challenges such as:

  • climate change
  • health system strains
  • technological advancements

Information Session

To provide an opportunity for researchers from Queensland and Bavaria to hear more about the program, ask questions, and connect with fellow researchers the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation together with the Bavaria-Australia Coordination Unit are excited to invite interested people to a virtual information session.

This event will take place online on 9th at 9am (Bavaria)/5pm (Queensland). Registration is needed in order to participate. Registrations will close on 2nd April.

1. Seed Grants

  • Funding Amount: €10,000
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Application Deadline: May 14, 2025
  • Funding Start Date: September 2025
  • Objective:
    • Travel and accommodation for researchers
    • Joint symposia, workshops, mobility projects, and webinars
    • Local activities supporting new collaborative research initiatives
    • Initiatives leading to joint funding applications

2. Development Grants

  • Funding Amount: €70,000
  • Duration: 24 months
  • Application Deadline: June 18, 2025
  • Funding Start Date: October 2025
  • Objectives:
    • Development of emerging and priority industries
    • Activities resulting in proof-of-concept
    • Research in collaboration with industry partners
    • Feasibility analyses and market potential assessments
